January 2010

Like everyone else, we can’t believe it’s the end of the year already! Things are always frenetic and crazy for us at this time of the year, with early deadlines, plenty of events and budgets.

But, somehow we manage to get it all done in time to enjoy the traditional summer holidays. It normally takes at least half the holiday, just to recover! But this year it all feels extra special. UCM and FHM are officially 10 and we can’t help but be positive about what 2010 holds. All around us roads are being improved, pavements are being upgraded and people are discussing their plans for the World Cup.

Our New Year wish to our advertisers and readers is health, happiness and prosperity with a speedy end to the recession which has touched us all this past year. Bring on 2010!

It's RYK!

It’s official – Ryk Neethling is still the hottest of the hot, and don’t take our word for it, ask the South African public! Heat’s readers voted Ryk into the coveted top spot in the heat Hot 100 poll for the second year in a row, making him the first person ever to win twice. In the process heat’s one-time guest editor wiped the floor with old classics of hotness like Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, but also the hot newbies from the Twilight franchise Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
